Application:

Using the hot melt adhesive to bind foam sheets to both other foam sheets and rigid panels

Material Used:

PUR hot melt adhesive

Equipment/Solution:

The equipment used in this application is a Graco TOF hot melt unit, dual hoses, dual heated distribution headers mounted in the heated Roll Coater to feed melted PUR material to both the top and bottom rolls of the roll coater.  The sheets of foam and/or rigid panels are fed into the rolls where the melted adhesive is transferred from the rolls to the surface of the foam or panels being fed through.

The equipment is as follows:

A single Therm-O-Flow (TOF 200) 55-gal (200 liter) hot melt unit, Senator air motor, Mega-Flo Plate with 8-zone panel and pendant
2 heated hoses, from pump to headers
2 heated distribution headers with automatic valves
2 solenoid kits for header valve actuation
1 splitter cable for powering the valves on the header
