Case 5 - Electrical Components Manufacturing

Small Electric Motor Manufacturer

Application:

Automatically applying 2K epoxies to small electric motor armatures. A high vibration environment in which the crimped on wires would break loose uses the motors. The wire connection on the armature automatically applies the epoxy as the armature rotates on a machine.

Material Used:

2 Component Epoxy,  1:1 Ratio

Equipment/Solution:

The Epoxy material is 1:1 ratio, A to B. It is a thick material, in excess of 100,000 centipoise on each of the A and B components. The Materials are supplied in 5-gallon pails.

The equipment used is a 1:1 Proportioning System that includes the following:

1:1 Duo-Mix Proportioning System
Automated 2K gun with disposable mixers
All hoses, fittings, and pneumatic controls
PLC Control panel for timing the dispense shot.
