Case 25 - 1K – Heated PrecisionFlo LT

Type of User:

Automotive feeder stamping facility

Application:

Automatically applying sealer material to dash cowl part; left and right side. It is done with a XYZ fixed automation table (no robot). Dispensed volume is 2.6 cc per part in a rosebud application.

Material Used:

Single component temperature conditioned sealer, MS-CD 473, approx 600,000 cps at 105° F.

Equipment/Solution:

One 65:1 Checkmate pump
2-post, 3” ram
One heat-only advanced PrecisionFlo LT dispensing system
High resolution helical flow meter
Two Auto Plus manifold mounted dispense guns
All hoses, fittings and pneumatic controls


Special equipment modifications:

Due to limited budget, using one PrecisionFlo LT with two dispense guns, we decided to split the fluid flow in two after the regulator outlet, using two identical hoses in length and diameter.  The customer would never have to dispense at the same time so we used Style 1 for the L.H. and Style 2 for the R.H.  This enabled us to monitor both applications.  The robot controller selected the style and fired the gun solenoid as required; (Note, additional gun solenoid was required).  The PrecisionFlo LT was set in batch mode as the volume was the same for both sides and has run perfectly for one year.
