Application:
Manually applying 2K Polysulfide Sealant to the edges of insulated glass for the secondary seal
Material Used:
2 Component Polysulfide Sealant, 10:1 Ratio
Equipment/Solution:
The equipment is dependent upon the material’s physical characteristics. In this case, the Polysulfide Sealant material is 10:1 ratio, A to B. It is a very thick material, in excess of 1,000,000 centipoise on each of the A and B components. A 55-gallon open head drum for the base material and a 5-gallon pail for the catalyst supply the material.
The equipment used is a configured Hydra-Mate or Visco-Mix Proportioning System that includes the following:
1 – Two Component proportioning unit with a Master / Slave Pumping system.
1 – 5 gallon ram for the catalyst feed.
1 – Flex mix gun kit that includes the flex mixer (or Tri-Core mixer), Ultra-Lite gun with mixer in
the handle, injector valve, catalyst bypass valve and necessary fittings.
