Technical Service Engineer

 

Technical Service Engineer:                                        POST DATE: 8/1/2007

Technical Service Engineer to assist with technical and customer service related issues in an industrial customer based market. Engineer will participate in machine assembly, testing, installations, training, troubleshooting, and repair.

Maintain complete and detailed records of projects. Organization and record keeping of products required / ordered / received for open projects. Maintain bill of materials list and verify equipment prior to shipment.


Principal Activities / Duties:

  • Supervise and assist in equipment assembly, testing, demonstration, and installation.
  • Conduct customer training on the operation and upkeep of the various systems and components and make spare parts recommendations.  
  • Provide trouble shooting assistance and preventative maintenance and service  recommendations.
  • Provide scheduled field service customer support
  • Provide hands on support as needed.
  • Among other duties.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or two-year technical school certificate or equivalent.
  • 2 to 4 years of successful related technical service experience (mechanical products preferred)
  • Effective written, oral and presentation communication skills.
  • Evidence of mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work successfully without close supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Experience Required:

A minimum of two years experience servicing mechanical equipment is required.

Without a degree, 4 years of experience servicing mechanical equipment is required.

Skills:

  1. Mechanical aptitude and experience
  2. Electrical / electronic aptitude and experience.
  3. Ability to read pneumatic and electrical schematics / drawings
  4. Ability to read mechanical schematics / drawings.
  5. Ability to use digital test equipment and personal PCs
  6. Working knowledge of PLC’s
  7. Ability to organize and work with others
  8. Effective oral and written communication skills
  9. Experience with adhesive dispensing equipment is preferred.
  10. Experience with fluid pumping systems is preferred
