 MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER                                              POST DATE: 12/11/2006

Kirkco seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer, responsible for design and drafting of mechanical parts and systems using AutoCAD and 3-D Solid Works. Create bill of materials, part numbers and engineering paperwork. Candidate will test equipment, write and edit instruction manuals, source new components for systems and research customer specifications for quoting parts with vendors.

The Mechanical Design Engineer generates, evaluates, analyzes, and develops design concepts for systems, components and assemblies to achieve new product requirements and current product improvements.  Provides technical leadership for product development teams.

Responsible for developing processes to release a product with a high quality level. Plans, releases, and coordinates implementation of Engineering Change Notices.  Ensures the correct processes, tooling and equipment are available to manufacture related parts in-house or at a specified supplier in a safe, quality and cost effective manner.  

DESCRIPTION

 Work with customers in the initial design phase to ensure expectations and
specifications are clearly defined and understood.

 Design components, systems and machines for cost-effective manufacturing.

 Create and modify detailed drawings using CAD software from sketches, layouts, or notes. 

 Find cost-effective quality suppliers and supervise them for timely delivery of quality products.

 Provide training and ensure proper machine documentation is maintained.

 REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:
* B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering
* Experience and expertise in the manufacture and assembly of components and complete machines.
* Experience and creativity in conceiving and designing complete systems and complex machines.
* Must be very proficient in AutoCAD and other modeling software.
* Must be willing to work hands-on from assembly to start-up of project.

Full and/or Part-time position available.
