Dopag Single Component Systems:

Feeding and metering single component media with maximum precision

The Hilger u. Kern / Dopag Group designs and manufactures single and multi component systems for feeding, metering and mixing media from low to high viscosity throughout the world.

From standard designs to individually tailored solutions. For more than 30 years we have been implementing innovative technical designs in a cost effective way.

Controlling the precise metering and supply of liquid media of every consistency are essential pre-conditions to finding the best solutions. But sometimes something special is required and for these cases we operate with special adapters. Each adaptor is unique and as individual and unmistakable as a fingerprint. We can apply all types of media, whether by contact, spray or impulse application. Special adapters from the Hilger u. Kern / Dopag Group are able to solve the most difficult application problems

DOPAG metering and dispensing valves are used in all parts of industry for processing low viscosity to pasty media. For these applications a high-precision, reproducible dose is required. These valves are available in a number of different ranges and in different sizes. This allows the user to select the most suitable valve for each individual application. Such a large number of options together with elective materials of construction maximize the valves possible uses. Metering and dispensing valves are in use for instance, in DOPAG metering and dispensing systems for multi component media. They are also used extensively in single component systems with media such as greases, oils and adhesives.

Single component metering systems can accomplish these applications:
• Bead laying
• Applying drops
• Filling
• Spraying
• Laminating

Single component metering systems can process
• Sealants
• Silicones
• Colorants
• Greases
• Oils
• Pastes
• Adhesives

Needle Metering valve
Needle metering valves are used for processing low to high viscosity media. The valve consists of two separated parts. This separation means that it is not possible for any leaking material to flow into the actuating air cylinder that might otherwise cause a malfunction of the valve. The needle is sealed by means of an adjustable packing set. Speed of metering depends on the material viscosity and the material pressure.

Product data
• metering volume infinitely adjustable
• high-precision, reproducible dosage
• high pressure
• electric or pneumatic control
• Metering volume: 0,001 - 1,0 cm3
• Material input pressure: 3 - 20 bar

 Chamber metering valve
The chamber metering valve is constructed with a metering chamber, whose size is adjusted to the metering volume.
Standard sizes in different optional types allow a shot size from 0,050 up to 100,00 cm3.

Cartridge metering valve
The cartridge metering valve is a new generation of precision metering valves based on a completely new
principle. The metering chamber is an exchangeable cartridge contained within an aluminum valve body.
The volumetric output is infinitely adjustable between its limits. The speed of metering depends on the viscosity of
the material and the material pressure. Adjusting the metering volume can be achieved easily by simply changing the
metering cartridge. Metering volume: 0,025 - 10 cm3
Cartridge: 0,025 / 1,0 / 10 cm3

Dispensing valve Series 400 / 401 / 402

Dispensing Valves

Dispensing valves are used for processing low to high viscosity media. Adjusting the position of the needle in relation to its seat can control the size of the outlet orifice, thus giving control of the flow rate of the material. When fully closed, the needle seals against its seat and is sealed at the throat by an adjustable packing set. The valve is constructed in two separate parts. This separation of the fluid section from the actuating air section means that it is not possible for any leaking material to flow into the actuating air cylinder, which might otherwise cause a malfunction of the valve. Material passageways can be quickly flushed out if necessary.

Membrane dispensing valve
The MEMBRANE DISPENSING VALVE has been specifically developed to dispense both one and mixed two component reactive, abrasive and chemically aggressive fluids from low
to high viscosity. This low maintenance valve relies on a flexible diaphragm to seal the fluid passageways from the pneumatically driven actuating section of the valve, with only the valve
head and membrane in contact with the media. If necessary the fluid passageways can easily be flushed. The “snuffer” effect of the membrane valve is especially useful in automatic applications where even small unwanted drips or material “strings” can severely effect the quality of the finished products.

  • Pump Systems

  • Generates an operating pressure of up to 300 bar
  • 2-hand safety control
  • Level monitoring with automatic cut-out if the drum is empty
  • Hard-chromed piston
  • Wetted parts made from stainless steel
  • Fluid Regulating Valves

Material pressure regulators for a reduced and continuous material pressure for all metering and dispensing  applications
DOPAG material pressure regulators are used to reduce the feed pressure down to the required operating pressure.
As well as accurately regulating material pressure, these valves will also compensate for pulsations that occur as a result of the reciprocating action of piston pumps. Pulsations cause a brief decrease in pressure that could lead to
a slight reduction in the flow of material. These regulators can be used on materials with viscosities from 5,000 to 500,000 mPa s. DOPAG material pressure regulators are manufactured with two different types of construction:
• Regulators with piston
• Regulators with diaphragm

Optionally, a remote control is available for valves with diaphragm to regulate the operating pressure in place of manual adjustment. Optionally, twin pressure gauges display the material input pressure as well as the material outlet pressure. Optionally, material input filters are available to prevent contamination and possible blockages within the system. ensures constant material pressure at the application point.
- Reduces high pump pressure

  • For low to high viscosity media
  • Compensates for pressure fluctuations reliably
  • No wear, even with abrasive media
  • Progressively adjustable pressure range
  • - Two versions available (with membrane or pressure spring)
    • Material pressure regulator with piston: This type of material pressure regulator is especially suitable for the processing ofself-lubricating materials such as greases and oils as well as single and plural component silicones. The sealing of the spring space takes place via a slide ring seal
    • Material pressure regulator with diaphragm: This type of material pressure regulator is most suitable for use with reactive, moisture-sensitive and – because the ball and seat are manufactured from tungsten carbide – also abrasive media, such as, epoxy resins, polyurethanes and many other materials. The sealing of the spring space takes place via the diaphragm.
  • Remote control for material pressure regulator with diaphragm: The remote control enables easy and accurate setting of the operating pressure, without any manual adjustment, to respond to changing production conditions or flow rates. The change in operating pressure occurs as a result of the adjustment of the air pressure to the diaphragm. This is especially useful when regulators are located in difficult to access or hard to reach areas.

  • Flow regulator valve
    to achieve close metering tolerances.
    - reduces the flow rate of material at the end of the

  • DOPAG BOOSTER-MIX
  • Developed specifically for use in applying highly viscous single component moisture sensitive
adhesives that make use of a small percentage of an accelerator to speed up the polymerization process regardless of air humidity, the DOPAG BOOSTER-MIX provides a compact, reliable and self contained solution.

Fitted with extra-powerful twin rams to eliminate the possibility of cavitations during priming with high viscosity adhesives, the BOOSTER-MIX uses standard DOPAG volumetric shot metering technology to accurately introduce the accelerator directly from the hose bag. Both the adhesive and the accelerator are fed separately to a dispensing valve where they are mixed using a static mixer. The volume of accelerator introduced into the adhesive is infinitely variable between 1% and 3% by means of a pre-select counter and by mechanical adjustment of the metering valve.

DOPAG Mixing Valves: Static Mixer Valves, Static-Dynamic Mixing, And Dynamic Mixing Systems

Designed to accurately dispense and mix plural-component sealants and adhesives
The reactive components are mixed in disposable motionless static mixers that attach to the outlet
of the twin dispensing valve. Standard Bell Mouth or Luer Lock static mixers can be adapted depending on the shot size, viscosity and reactivity of the material being dispensed

The valve contains an infinitely adjustable “snuffer” effect to avoid dripping after metering has finished.
Should mixed material be allowed to cure in the mixer, it can be replaced simply and inexpensively,
thus avoiding a time consuming, expensive and environmentally damaging flushing cycle.
